We performed our end of the year play.  A huge thank you goes to Tom McCabe for helping the students here at Coburn Elementary with their writing.  The students remembered his writing ideas and of course his great stories.  

Which brings me to inspiration for writing for writing this play. Tom told my students about Jackie Mitchell, the girl who struck out Babe Ruth.  Each year my class writes and performs a play based on something we read or studied.  This year we wrote a play based on the Jackie Mitchell story from Tom.   Thank you Tom for the inspiration.

  We performed our play, Mighty Jackie, on Thursday, June 16 at 10 am and again at 1 pm for the school and Mr. McCabe.

Field Day 2016

We completed our projects on animals.  Each student researched an invertebrate and vertebrate.  Then wrote an informational piece on one animal and a Diary of ...for the other.  The inspiration for the diary comes from the series by author Doreen Cronin.
