LEARN LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY
Weeks of 10/30 & 11/4

The school conducted a Relocation drill to Cowing School.  This type of drill is done annually.  In writing we revised our narrative piece on the field trip to Skinner State Park.   In word study we worked on homophones, words that sound alike but are spelled differently and long u and short u vowel sounds..   Also in reading, we discussed author’s purpose  and started character traits.   In addition, we have Storyworks Magazine, online and paper copy, which has interesting stories and current events that motivate students to read.  In math we worked on identifying patterns and extending the pattern as multiplication of multiples of 10 and 100.  Your child should be studying math facts each night.   In social studies we worked on latitude and longitude.  In science we continued our study of weathering, erosion and landforms.

Your child should read for at least 20 minutes nightly and sign the reading log.

Reading Tip of the Week
KEEP READING TO YOUR CHILD...Children are never too old to be read to or let your child read to you!!! Enjoy the time you have together.
