To go along with our study of immigration, we completed a study of Ellis Island. Mr. Noonan transformed the classroom into Ellis Island. Students needed to come prepared with a passport from their country, a bag of items from their country, be able to answer questions about why they came to America, and what they hoped to find in the new country. In addition students were asked questions and had to be inspected such as an eye examine along with their features measured. Students experienced part of what it was like to come through Ellis Island to America. Some students received a passport into America while others were deported. As a follow up, students were asked questions, particularly about their experience of the day. See pictures below.

Congratulations to Maddie
Bully Poem Winner!
Acceptance
When you bully you lose a friend
But when you accept you’ll gain one again
Don’t be a bully , it’s just rude
You’ll make more friends with less attitude
Accepting others is the right thing to do
Friends and family will agree with you too
I don’t get why people bully each other
So take a step up to help one another
SO JUST , ACCEPT !
