LEARN LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY
Weeks of 2/26/2016
Kevin Robinson, a professional BMX rider, visited our school. K-Rob entertained us with his tricks on his bike while talking to us about bully prevention. See pictures on our website and blog. In social studies we completed our study of the Southwest Region of the United States and created a video using Animoto to share our learning. We started our study of the West Region of the United States and we will create a Thinglink to share our learning. In writing, we started our study of opinion writing. In reading, we continued biography and character traits. In addition we used Reader’s Theater to share about a person. Each group presented to the class. Reader’s Theater is a great for reading fluency. In math we continued our study of fractions.
Your child should read for at least 20 minutes nightly, complete the Reading log and parent/guardian should sign the reading log.
TIP OF THE WEEK: Ask Why: When your child expresses his opinion or states his ideas about something, ask him why he thinks that or how he knows it to be true. This will help him learn to support his opinion with reasons and/or facts. Do the same when you express your opinion or ideas about something.
